Poetry
The word "Poem" is defined in the English dictionary as "A verbal composition designed to convey experiences, ideas, or emotions in a vivid and imaginative way, characterised by the use of language chosen for its sound and suggestive power and by the use of literary techniques such as meter, metaphor, and rhyme."
I see poetry as a unique artform which taps directly into our souls through the raw power and energy of the Word. Poems are designed to hit hard and when written well will penetrate deep into your mind and your heart
Professional Poets
The writers in this section are "Professional Poets". I reckon they spend thier time wandering around, watching and experiencing the world, taking mental notes and then they go home, sit back, relax and start writing poetry. I call them "Professional" because their published work and appearances at seminars and shows puts food on the table, and sometimes, maybe a Benz or two in the garage.

Dedicated Amateurs
"Dedicated Amateur... what's that?" I hear you ask. Well, a dedicated amateur is someone who is not famous for their work, they don't get paid for their work, but do it simply because they love it. But, by having their poems on this website for the world to enjoy, who knows, a publisher may come asking me for certain phone numbers or email addresses for these guys and then I'll have to move them to the top of the page. ;-)
